How do you deal with discomfort? Do you pause and adjust? Or do you cry and maybe run away?
For the past few months, I’ve been working with an amazing client whom I love! This is the ideal client that anyone would be happy to work with, but there is a small detail that sometimes makes me feel uncomfortable.
Things are changing ALL the time! It’s crazy and I wonder how or why things need to change all the time.
The truth is that this client is teaching me:
EVOLVE: Always evolve, there are so many ways to change and adapt, the faster you realize that the faster you’ll grow and get positive results.
MULTIPLE WAYS: There is NEVER just ONE way of doing things. There are a million ways to make a million dollars, so we need to test what we’re doing and see what works.
ADAPTATION: Adaptation is part of the game of life! Everything is changing so fast! Just look at ChatGPT and Jasper and things are already different from a few weeks ago. Life is about adapting fast to the market’s needs and desires.
LISTENING: Listen to your market and see what holes you can fill. If we don’t adjust, we miss the boat. Having a constant conversation with your market is the best way to have a positive influence and know how to help.
JUST DO IT: Get busy and make things happen… In other words, build the plane as you’re flying it. Nothing is going to happen if we keep on perfecting every little detail. Perfection does not exist, so might as well make it as perfect as you can knowing perfection is unattainable.
Don’t get me wrong, it’s hard… For someone who loves things to be constant, it’s challenging, but it’s the best way to grow. The best way to get results is to get busy and test.
And what do you do when you feel discomfort? Adapt, evolve, and see things as new opportunities to learn.
Being an email copywriter is not just about writing emails, it’s about much more than that. When we get to participate and have bigger roles with our clients, we can grow along with the client, knowing that we are learning just as much as the brand and marketing.
So for now, I’ll just take a minute, trust the process, and know that at this point, we NEED to evolve… Maybe at another time, we can stay constant? Probably not…! Movement is the name of the game and how we grow, so I’ll choose to accept the challenge!
Have you been faced with adversity or discomfort? How did you deal with it?
P.S. I think we all need balance and I know we’ll get there. Don’t get me wrong, changing things and going all over the place is insanity. In this post, I’m referring to calculated changes that make sense to us!
